J'Lynn Harvey is a Master's of Family Therapy student at Mercer University's School of Medicine and an resident here at The Walk of Life Counseling Center. She received her bachelor's degree in Social, Behavioral, and Human Understanding with a minor in Psychology from the University of Arizona. Her experience lies in working with individuals, couples, and families. Ms. Harvey has a passion for working with young adults, individuals seeking a committed relationship but feel they have personal issues to work through first, couples, and athletes dealing with stress and anxiety. She is under the supervision of Shontel Solomon, who is a licensed marriage and family therapist.
Ms. Harvey is an experiential, communication-based therapist. She believes that intergenerational factors contribute to how we handle the issues that life throws our way. Therefore, her approach assists the client in uncovering these intergenerational factors and understanding of how these factors may impact their emotions and how they communicate and behave. Ms. Harvey believes it is important to be your true and genuine self and brings that along with empathy and compassion for each client's individual circumstances into the therapy room. Additionally, J'Lynn is Prepare/Enrich trained and certified and provides premarital counseling services at a reduced rate.
